Statement from Charlene Joyce on the Venezuelan People and the Maduro Regime

“I unequivocally condemn the oppressive and corrupt regime of Nicolás Maduro and stand firmly with the people of Venezuela in their rightful pursuit of liberty, freedom, and self-governance.

For decades, the Venezuelan people have endured immense suffering under a socialist dictatorship that has stripped them of their dignity, crushed democratic institutions, and denied them the most basic human rights. Families have been torn apart, faith has been suppressed, and millions have been forced to flee their homeland in search of safety and opportunity.

As a Christian, I believe freedom is not something granted by governments, it is a God-given right. Every individual is created with inherent dignity and endowed with the right to live freely, worship openly, speak without fear, and choose their leaders without coercion or violence. No regime has the moral authority to take those rights away.

The hardship faced by the Venezuelan people is not the result of their own failure, but of a regime that placed ideology above humanity and power above the people. It is long past time for Venezuela to be free from tyranny and for its people to reclaim their future.

I stand in solidarity with every Venezuelan family who has suffered, every parent who has sacrificed for their children, and every person who has held onto faith through unimaginable hardship.

I will always stand for freedom, human dignity, and the God-given rights of all people. The people of Venezuela deserve the opportunity to determine their own future and to live in peace, faith, and freedom.”
